HSB Global Standards V.P. of Codes & Standards receives J. Hall Taylor Medal and elected a Fellow of ASME
Thomas P. Pastor, Vice President of Codes & Standards for HSB Global Standards received the J. Hall Taylor Medal for his distinguished leadership and professionalism in the technical development of ASME codes and standards for boiler and pressure vessels and for engineering expertise in the design and inspection of pressure equipment. In addition, Mr. Pastor was elected a Fellow of ASME.

In order to be elected a Fellow, one must be recognized by peers as having extraordinary technical knowledge in the activity of the code committees. In addition, the candidate must utilize this knowledge to further the activity of the committee in developing a new code or standard, in making a revision to an existing one, and in initiating an important procedural change in applying new or existing codes or standards. The candidate must have a minimum of ten years of active service on Codes and Standards committees and in all committee work demonstrated exemplary dedication to protection of the public safety and to the convenience of consumers.

This great honor is a reflection upon Mr. Pastor’s personal commitment to ASME codes and standards, his technical capabilities and most of all, his ability to combine these with his leadership skills to keep the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes the premier codes in the world. HSB Global Standards is very fortunate to have Mr. Pastor as a leader of their Codes and Standards group.
